- How do I know if you have one of your campers available?
All you need to do is contact us to check availability on your preferred date. You can do that by using the contact form anytime or calling Tim at Oldfields Garage Services on 01568 612436, Monday – Friday 8:30-17:30 or 07966 007649 8:00 – 19:30.
- How do I confirm the booking?
Your booking date is reserved as soon as we receive the booking deposit of £100. The deposit is non-refundable and ensures no-one else can hire the camper for the dates you’ve booked. This is your cancellation fee if you cancel more than 4 weeks away from your booking date.
- When do I need to make the full payment?
The full payment/the balance for your camper hire is due 4-weeks prior to your collection date. If your booking is less than 4-weeks before you are due to collect, we require full payment when booking. If you cancel within 4 weeks of your booking you will be liable for the full amount of the hire, unless we are able to rehire the camper.
- How do I pay my bond deposit?
Your bond deposit must be paid by card before you take the vehicle. The full bond deposit will be returned within 20 days of camper being returned to us in the same condition as it was accepted.
- How long should I allow when collecting the camper?
You should allow up to an hour to collect the camper. This enables us time to deal with the paperwork and give you a tour of the camper.
- How long should I allow when returning the camper?
You should allow up to an hour to return the camper. This enables us time to deal with any paperwork and check the camper over before accepting it back.
- What’s included in the hire and are there any extra charges?
There are no hidden charges, our campers are ready for you to have a fantastic holiday. Prices include VAT. There may however be some additional items that would enhance your trip. These are detailed on the “our campers” page.
- I have never hired a camper van before, will I be OK?
Of course, it’s all part of the adventure! We will give you a tour of the camper when you collect and the camper comes with instructions. Remember we are only a phone call away should you get stuck.
- What isn’t included in the hire?
Our Campers are equipped ready for you to have a fantastic holiday. The only things that you’ll need to provide are fuel, bedding (we can provide this for an additional cost), food and clothing. Site fees are also not included.
- What happens if we don’t return the camper on time?
We need to know as soon as possible if you are going to be late back, because the campers are only insured until the standard return time, unless prior arrangements have been made. There is a late return fee of £50, which will be deducted from your deposit bond. Late returning may also impact on the next hire and we always like to get the holiday off to a great start. If a late return affects another booking, we may deduct lost days hire from your deposit bond.
- Can we collect the camper at times outside of advertised times?
In some cases we are able to start the hire off at a different times. Please ask if this is possible when booking.
- Do I need insurance?
Insurance for vehicle hire is included in our prices, however you may wish take out your own holiday insurance to cover things like cancellations.
- Do you offer discount for longer hire?
Our prices are competitive and shown in our “our campers page.” If you would like to hire one of our campers for longer than 10 days, please contact us to discuss.
- Can anyone hire an Oldfields Camper van?
For our standard hire policy, drivers need to be aged between 25-72 and have been driving for a minimum of 2 years. If you are outside of these ages, please contact us as we may still be able to help. In the last 4 years, if you have been involved in any accidents, have driving offences (more than 3 penalty points) or bans you should inform us when booking. If you haven’t disclosed the above information when booking and our insurers won’t provide cover you will be responsible for paying the non-refundable deposit. If your trip is within 4 weeks you will be responsible for the full hire cost (including the non-refundable deposit) unless we are able to re-hire the camper.
- How many drivers can we have?
Our hire fee includes one driver however additional drivers can be added for an additional fee.
- What happens if we break down?
Our vehicles prepared and maintained to the highest standard, in our fully equipped own garage (www.oldfieldsgarage.co.uk). However, if the worst happens our campers are covered by 24 hour breakdown cover. If the vehicle cannot be repaired at roadside you have authority to spend up to £50 which will be reimbursed in full if you provide us with an itemised VAT receipt. Our AA breakdown recovery only includes recovery to one place, so this should be to Oldfields Garage Services Ltd, HR6 0LX.
- What happens if I break something in the camper?
We understand accidents happen. Damaged items will be replaced and the cost deducted from your deposit bond.
- Can we bring bikes?
If you’d like to bring bikes please let us know because we will arrange for an appropriate means of transportation.
- Can we tow a trailer with the van?
Tommy has a towbar, with single electrics so towing a small trailer would be possible. Please ask us if you would like to tow during your holiday.
- Are there any mileage limitations?
No, we don’t have mileage limitations for our campers – the only limitation you have on mileage is how far you can travel to return on time for the end of your hire.
- Can we travel to Europe?
At present we do not offer European Travel. If this is something you are specifically looking for, please enquire.
- What do we need to bring?
All you will need to bring is towels & clothing, bedding and any personal items or food you might require.
- Can we leave our car with you when we use the camper?
Yes, off-road parking is available. Vehicles are parked at the owners risk.
- Are the campers Pet Friendly?
Unfortunately we are not able to accept pets in our campers.
